MCP for Google Analytics (GA4)

GoMarble MCP connects AI assistants to Google Analytics 4, letting them read traffic sources, page views, events, device metrics, active users and user behaviour, and run custom reports, using natural language.

Read-only. The value here is skipping the exploration builder for questions you only need answered once.

Connecting to Claude

The current steps, from the GoMarble MCP page:

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Enter https://apps.gomarble.ai/mcp-api/sse, then select Authorize.
  4. Choose the GoMarble workspace and accounts Claude can use.

Authorization uses GoMarble’s consent and workspace permissions, completed in the browser window your client opens.

Other supported clients

GoMarble MCP is a remote MCP server at https://apps.gomarble.ai/mcp-api/sse, currently supported in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, Hermes and OpenClaw, plus other clients that support compatible remote or local MCP servers. Setup differs slightly per client, so follow the canonical instructions rather than adapting the Claude steps.

GoMarble MCP workflows for Google Analytics

Jobs marketers actually want done, rather than features. Each one is a single natural-language request.

Explain a traffic drop

“Why did site traffic fall last week?”

What GoMarble MCP does: Pulls traffic by source and channel for both periods and identifies which source accounts for the decline.

What you get:

Check the landing-page half of a CPA rise

“Did conversion rate fall on the pages my ads send traffic to?”

What GoMarble MCP does: Reads page views and conversions for those pages, separating an ad problem from a site problem.

What you get:

Compare paid against organic

“How does paid traffic convert compared to organic this month?”

What GoMarble MCP does: Breaks sessions and conversions down by channel and compares conversion behaviour.

What you get:

Find where events stopped firing

“Has any conversion event dropped off recently?”

What GoMarble MCP does: Reads event volumes against their own recent baseline and flags anything that fell sharply.

What you get:

Device check

“Is mobile converting worse than desktop?”

What GoMarble MCP does: Pulls the device breakdown for sessions and conversions.

What you get:

Reconcile with the ad platforms

“GA4 shows fewer conversions than Meta — where is the gap?”

What GoMarble MCP does: Pulls both from the same connection so attribution-window and modelling differences can be reasoned about rather than guessed.

What you get:

Example GoMarble MCP prompts for Google Analytics

Things real marketers ask, grouped by intent. Paste any of them once connected.

Traffic

  • “Where did my traffic come from last month?”
  • “Which channel drove the most sessions this quarter?”
  • “How has organic traffic trended over 90 days?”
  • “Which campaigns sent the most traffic?”
  • “Compare paid and organic sessions month over month”

Behaviour

  • “Which pages get the most views?”
  • “What events fired most last week?”
  • “How many active users did I have yesterday?”
  • “Has user behaviour changed since the redesign?”

Conversion

  • “What is my conversion rate by channel?”
  • “Which landing pages convert best?”
  • “Did any conversion event drop off this month?”

Cross-channel

  • “Does GA4 agree with Meta on conversions this month?”
  • “Which ad channel drives the best on-site behaviour?”
  • “Show me paid traffic quality by source”

Why use GoMarble MCP for Google Analytics?

An API gives AI access to data. GoMarble MCP gives it the marketing context and workflows needed to work with that data.

GoMarble MCP for cross-platform marketing analysis

Marketers rarely decide anything from one platform. GoMarble MCP can give AI a view of the wider marketing system rather than forcing it to reason from one disconnected source at a time.

CombinationWhat becomes answerable

How does GoMarble MCP work?

StepWhat happens
1You ask a question in natural language
2The AI client works out what information it needs
3GoMarble MCP retrieves the relevant marketing data and tools
4GoMarble supplies the marketing context around it
5The AI analyses the result
6You get an answer, a recommendation, a report — or a proposed action

Write access is plan-dependent. On the read-only plan you can connect a client and analyse supported accounts without making changes. Where write access is enabled, changes are proposed rather than applied directly — every write tool in the server is a propose call, and consequential actions route through the permissions and approval gates configured for your workspace.

Who is GoMarble MCP for?

Performance marketers

Separate an ad-side problem from a site-side one without leaving the assistant.

Analysts

Answer a one-off question without building an exploration that nobody will reuse.

Agencies

Pull client site data alongside ad data for the weekly update.

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP for Google Analytics?
It means connecting an AI client such as Claude or ChatGPT to your GA4 property through the Model Context Protocol, so the assistant can read traffic, events, behaviour and custom reports directly. GoMarble hosts the server, so there is nothing to install.
Can it change anything in GA4?
No. GA4 is read-only on this connection — it reads data and cannot alter configuration, create conversions or modify properties.
Does it replace GA4 explorations?
For one-off questions, often yes, and that is where most of the time goes. For a report many people check repeatedly, a built exploration or dashboard is still the right artefact.
Can it run custom reports?
Yes — it can build a report from GA4 dimensions and metrics you describe, which is usually faster than remembering the exact field names yourself.
Which AI clients work with it?
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, Hermes and OpenClaw. The same server URL works for all of them.
What does the free plan allow?
Read and analysis only, one account per data source, and a cap of $50,000 in cumulative ad spend. GA4 is read-only here anyway, so the free plan covers the full experience for this source.
Why does GA4 disagree with my ad platforms?
Because they measure differently — attribution windows, view-through credit and modelling all differ. Having both on one connection does not make them agree; it makes the difference explainable rather than mysterious, which is the useful outcome.
Do I need a Google Cloud service account?
No. The authentication and API plumbing sit on our side. You connect the GA4 property in GoMarble and point your AI client at the server.
